A typical day at Day Camp
Jump Start – Kick off the morning with high energy songs, games, and a skit to introduce the theme for the day! Bible Study – Campers will begin Bible study as a large community then split apart into small groups to discuss, read the daily Bible story, and participate in activities to further explore the theme! Lutherhill Gauntlet – Test your physical, mental, and creative skills in daily challenges! Refresh with a morning snack Creation Station – Campers will use many different mediums throughout the week to inspire imagination and create works of art that tie into the daily themes. Sing-a-long – The Lutherhill team will teach and lead a variety of camps songs as the entire community gets to “make a joyful noise” together! Community lunch and turtle time – Turtle time is a rest period in which campers get to kick back and watch a movie or play quiet games to get out of the sun during the hottest part of the day. Service Learning – Campers will receive hands-on learning experiences to discover more about Lutherhill’s Daily Bread Project and about how they are called to serve others! Post Study Bonanza – This is a time to gather as a community and for each village to share with one another what they have learned during the day in skit, song, or another creative format. Recharge with an afternoon snack All-camp games – Play a fun camp game together as a whole community! Closing Worship – This is a time of God-focused celebration, including songs, prayers, scripture readings, and a camper-based message centered on the daily theme!

Why Lutherhill Day Camp?
We are so grateful for Lutherhill Day Camp! Through it, we reach our community, extending an invitation to thank God, learn scripture stories, serve others, and care for creation. This may be the only experience of “church” many of our neighbors have, and thanks to Lutherhill, it’s a really good one. ~Pastor Tracey Breashears Schultz, Zion Lutheran, Houston
Our partnership with Lutherhill Day Camp Ministries over the past 7 years has been invaluable! There is no way our congregation could minister to 180 children and youth in our community without their vibrant, dynamic, and gifted counselors coming and helping to lead. Lutherhill is flexible and creative in meeting the needs of our context. This camp is something that is looked forward to by our entire community with non-church members coming back and volunteering just so they can stay connected to the ministry. Amazing opportunity for outreach and service!!!! ~ Ariel Williams, Emanuel’s Lutheran, Seguin
Shared Lutheran Ministries of Fayette County partnered with Lutherhill 3 years ago and since then we have seen an increase in attendance. The excitement, bible studies, activities and all around creativity of the Lutherhill Staff is always refreshing and meaningful. The outreach in our community grows stronger every summer, with three-fourths of the children coming from surrounding communities! ~MiLisa Gaertner, Day Camp Coordinator, SLM (Ellinger, Fayetteville, Rutersville, Warrenton)
Day camp is one of our church’s greatest community outreach programs. With the help of Lutherhill, we have been able to lengthen the traditional VBS-style program from 9am to noon to a true camp-style program lasting from 9am to 3pm. This has enabled more children within the community to attend. Our church has enjoyed a partnership with Lutherhill for several years and each year we continue to experience counselors who are well trained, love children, and able to shine God’s light on all! ~Dede Heidt, St. John’s Lutheran, Waller
