Lutherhill Ministries hires staff for a variety of positions at camp in La Grange, Texas, and for our day camp teams that travel around Texas to host camps at churches and in the community. See below for descriptions of the positions. We welcome summer staff who are positive Christian role models to all of our campers and guests. Applications are open!

  • Camphand | Canteen

    Canteen Camphands serve snacks to campers and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the canteen area. They help with restocking supplies, assist in snack preparation, and support other camp activities. Applicants must be at least 17 years old.

  • Camphand | Kitchen

    Kitchen Camphands support meal preparation, service, and clean-up. They work with the camp’s Food Service staff to ensure meals run smoothly and assist in keeping the dining area clean. Applicants must be at least 17 years old and have an interest in food service.

  • Camphand | Lifeguard

    Lifeguard Camphands ensure camper safety during aquatic activities, administer swim tests, and maintain the pool area. Lifeguard certification is required, and applicants must be at least 17 years old with the ability to assist in other camp activities as needed.

  • Camphand | Store

    Camphands working in the camp store help facilitate purchases for campers, maintain inventory, and ensure a clean and welcoming store environment. They also assist with various camp work projects. Applicants must be at least 17 years old and have experience in money handling and data processing.

  • Counselor

    Counselors are the heart of the camp, working directly with campers to create a safe, Christ-centered environment. They lead devotions, foster faith growth, and assist with daily camp activities. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with a passion for working with children and an openness to learning about child development.

  • Lead Counselor

    Lead Counselors take on additional responsibilities, such as leading day camp teams and managing camp logistics. They work closely with counselors and support staff to ensure a successful camp experience. Applicants must be at least 19 years old with two summers of outdoor ministry experience.

  • Leadership | Program Specialist – Activities

    Program Specialists are designated leaders responsible for mentoring staff, managing camp programs, and ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers. These roles involve overseeing camp operations, guiding campers and staff through activities, and fostering spiritual growth within the camp community.

    The Activities Program Specialist leads the camp’s activity schedule, ensuring that staff and campers engage in fun, safe, and meaningful experiences. This role involves managing activity areas, overseeing equipment, and mentoring staff to facilitate activities that promote teamwork and personal growth. Applicants must be at least 21 years old with outdoor ministry experience.

  • Leadership | Program Specialist – Adventure

    Program Specialists are designated leaders responsible for mentoring staff, managing camp programs, and ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers. These roles involve overseeing camp operations, guiding campers and staff through activities, and fostering spiritual growth within the camp community.

    The Adventure Program Specialist organizes and leads off-site adventure trips, teaching campers about outdoor camping and environmental stewardship. This role requires managing adventure trip logistics, maintaining equipment, and fostering a spirit of exploration and teamwork. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and familiar with camping and adventure trip protocols.

  • Leadership | Program Specialist – Day Camp

    Program Specialists are designated leaders responsible for mentoring staff, managing camp programs, and ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers. These roles involve overseeing camp operations, guiding campers and staff through activities, and fostering spiritual growth within the camp community.

    The Day Camp Program Specialist is responsible for overseeing day camp programs, managing staff, and coordinating with host congregations. This role involves leading staff training, ensuring day camp setup and tear down, and fostering meaningful interactions with campers and host families. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and have experience in outdoor ministry.

     

  • Leadership | Program Specialist – Healthcare

    Program Specialists are designated leaders responsible for mentoring staff, managing camp programs, and ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers. These roles involve overseeing camp operations, guiding campers and staff through activities, and fostering spiritual growth within the camp community.

    The Healthcare Program Specialist manages the health and safety of campers and staff, overseeing medication distribution, managing health forms, and responding to medical needs throughout the camp session. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a caring nature. Applicants must be at least 21 years old with two summers of outdoor ministry experience.

  • Leadership | Program Specialist – Onsite

    Program Specialists are designated leaders responsible for mentoring staff, managing camp programs, and ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers. These roles involve overseeing camp operations, guiding campers and staff through activities, and fostering spiritual growth within the camp community.

    The Onsite Program Specialist supports various camp operations, including overseeing daily activities, meal times, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for campers and staff. This role requires strong leadership skills, as it involves mentoring staff and managing logistics to ensure a smooth camp experience. Applicants must be at least 21 years old with two summers of outdoor ministry experience.

  • Leadership | Program Specialist – Retreat

    Program Specialists are designated leaders responsible for mentoring staff, managing camp programs, and ensuring a positive and safe environment for campers. These roles involve overseeing camp operations, guiding campers and staff through activities, and fostering spiritual growth within the camp community.

    The Retreat Program Specialist serves as the key contact for retreat groups, ensuring a positive and welcoming environment while overseeing retreat activities and staff. This role requires organizational skills and the ability to manage logistics, guest needs, and safety. Applicants must be at least 21 years old with two summers of outdoor ministry experience.

  • Program Staff

    Program Staff assist in leading camp activities, helping with Bible studies, and supporting campers’ daily needs. This role requires a strong commitment to faith and community, as well as a desire to help campers grow. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and have completed their junior year of high school.

  • Support | Arts & Crafts

    Arts & Crafts staff guide campers in creative expression, teaching various projects and maintaining a fun, safe environment for creativity. This role requires previous experience in outdoor ministry or a similar setting. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to teach creative skills.

  • Support | Media

    The Media team captures the essence of camp life through photography, videography, and social media, ensuring each camper is highlighted positively. This role requires general knowledge of multimedia tools and a desire to share the camp’s mission. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with proficiency in Adobe Suite and other media software preferred.

  • Support | Ropes

    Ropes staff facilitate both low and high ropes course activities, promoting teamwork and personal growth among campers. This role involves overseeing equipment safety and guiding campers through physical and emotional challenges. Applicants must be at least 19 years old and have experience with ropes courses and group facilitation.

  • Support | Waterfront

    The Waterfront team oversees all aquatic activities, ensuring camper safety while promoting fun and learning. Lifeguard certification is required, along with experience in aquatic area management. Applicants must be at least 19 years old and have two summers of outdoor ministry or equivalent experience.

Maintenance Manager

Maintenance Manager | posted October 2024
Lutherhill Ministries is seeking a dedicated Maintenance Manager to join our team, ensuring our facilities and grounds are safe, well-maintained, and inviting for all who visit. Based at Lutherhill Camp in La Grange, TX, and occasionally visiting our Galveston site, this role is vital to maintaining our standards of care, safety, and environmental stewardship. Responsibilities include overseeing facility upkeep, managing maintenance records, responding to emergency repairs, and supervising staff and volunteers.
