Lutherhill Ministries hires staff for a variety of positions at camp in La Grange, Texas, and for our day camp teams that travel around Texas to host camps at churches and in the community. We offer many opportunities for Lutherhill summer staff members. See below for descriptions of the positions. We welcome summer staff who are positive Christian role models to all of our campers and guests. Applications open November 15th!

  • Aquatics Coordinator

    Minimum 20 years old with lifeguard certification.

    This person is a supervisor for the camp’s aquatic areas (pool and pond). The Aquatics Coordinator oversees the lifeguard schedule, ensures that the aquatic areas are clean and creates a safe and fun environment for campers. This person must be mature, responsible and possess American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or its equivalent. Other duties include assisting with worship, games, and cabin supervision. The Aquatics Coordinator must attend Senior Staff and Staff Training. Lifeguard Certification may be provided by Lutherhill Ministries.

  • Arts & Crafts Coordinator

    Minimum 17 years old.

    This person is a creative leader that encourages campers and staff to encounter God through art. The Arts & Crafts Coordinator facilitates creative projects for campers and finds meaningful ways to incorporate art in worship experiences. Other duties include assisting with worship, games, and cabin supervision. The Arts & Crafts Coordinator must attend Staff Training.

  • Camphand

    Minimum 17 years old.

    This person is an improver of camp facilities, grounds and activities to enhance the camper experience. Camphands help with camp improvement projects, the high ropes course, and the outcamp area. Other duties include assisting with worship, games, and cabin supervision. Camphands must attend Staff Training.

  • Counselor

    Minimum 18 years old.

    This person is a mentor and encourager for campers. Counselors guide their cabin group in all aspects of the camp day, lead Bible study and devotions and actively participate in all camp activities. Other duties include assisting with the ropes course, providing supervision for aquatic activities, and modeling community meal etiquette. Counselors must attend Staff Training.

  • Daily Bread Coordinator

    Minimum 20 years old.

    This person is an advocate for active engagement in the world through the summer’s daily bread project. The Daily Bread Coordinator leads games, discussions and hands on service projects that bring the Daily Bread partnership to life. Other duties include assisting with worship, games, and cabin supervision. This position must attend Senior Staff Training and Staff Training.

  • Health Care Coordinator

    Minimum 21 years old.

    This person is a champion for health, safety and wellness for all camp participants. The Health Care Coordinator manages the distribution of medications, provides first aid, maintains records and manages medical supplies. This person works alongside volunteer medical professionals to care for the camp community. Other duties include assisting with worship, games, and cabin supervision. The Health Care Coordinator must attend Senior Staff Training and Staff Training.

  • Kitchen Assistant

    Minimum 17 years old.

    This person is a leader that fosters nutritious, community enhancing meal times. The Kitchen Assistant provides hospitality at all meals, serves evening snacks, and creates an orderly atmosphere in the dining hall. Other duties include assisting with worship, games, and cabin supervision. The Kitchen Assistant must attend Staff Training.

  • Lifeguard

    Minimum 17 years old and lifeguard certified.

    This person is a leader that creates a safe, clean and fun environment at the camp’s aquatic areas (pool and pond). Lifeguards work alongside the Aquatics Coordinator to guard all aquatics participants and ensure a clean, safe and fun environment in the aquatics areas. Lifeguards must be mature, responsible persons and possess American Red Cross Lifeguard certification or its equivalent. Other duties include assisting with worship, games, and cabin supervision. Lifeguards must attend Staff Training. Lifeguard Certification may be provided by Lutherhill Ministries.

  • Media Assistant

    Minimum 17 years old.

    This person is a creative leader that shares the story of camp with all. The Media Assistant works closely with the Media Coordinator to capture photos and videos of the camp day to share with camper families back home. This person goes to all camp activities to take photos and videos, uploads content for camper families to view online, and assists with the production of an end of the week video. Other duties include assisting with worship, games and cabin supervision. The Media Assistant must attend Staff Training.

  • Media Coordinator

    Minimum 19 years old.

    This person is a creative leader that shares the story of camp with all. The Media Coordinator captures photos and videos of the camp day to share with camper families back home. This person creates a powerpoint presentation each morning to kick off the camp day, uploads pictures for camper families to view online, provides content for social media posts & daily camp updates and produces an end of the week video. Other duties include assisting with worship, games and cabin supervision. The Media Coordinator must attend Senior Staff Training and Staff Training.

  • Outcamp Coordinator

    Minimum 18 years old.

    This person is a champion for exploring and conserving God’s good creation. The Outcamp Coordinator engages campers in nature activities and prepares a meal during their overnight stay at Outcamp. This person also teaches campers about the importance of recycling, energy conservation and other aspects of creation care. Other duties include assisting with worship, games and cabin supervision. The Outcamp Coordinator must attend Staff Training.

  • Program Specialist

    Minimum 21 years old.

    This person is a designated leader and a utility player to ensure all aspects of camp run smoothly. The Program Specialist works with the Summer Leadership Team, Senior Counselors, Media Team, Health Care Coordinator and Year-Round Staff to make sure that camp runs smoothly and effectively. Other duties include assisting with transportation, worship, games and cabin supervision. The Program Specialist must attend Leadership Training as well as Staff Training.

  • Program Staff

    This position is available to staff going into their senior year of High School.

    This person is an apprentice and leader that supports the overall camper experience. Program Staff experience a variety of roles throughout their four weeks of service, these may include being a co-counselor or camphand for onsite residential camp and a group leader for congregational day camps. Program Staff learn how to lead Bible studies and devotions, manage a group of campers, and be part of a meaningful community. This is a 5 week position which includes 1 week of training and 4 weeks of summer camp. Two sessions are available: Sessions A: June 11 – July 7 OR Session B: July 9 – August 5. All Program Staff are required to attend staff training June 4-9.

  • Ropes Course Assistant

    Minimum 18 years old.

    This person is a facilitator that engages campers in initiatives, low ropes and high ropes. The Ropes Course Assistant works closely with the Ropes Course Coordinator to provide orientation of campers, maintain accurate records, guide counseling staff while at the ropes course, and inspect equipment and the course. Other duties include assisting with worship, games and cabin supervision. The Ropes Course Assistant must attend Staff Training.

  • Ropes Course Coordinator

    Minimum 20 years old.

    This person is a facilitator that engages campers in initiatives, low ropes and high ropes. The Ropes Course Coordinator provides challenge and growth opportunities through the ropes course. Specific duties include training staff, providing course orientation, maintaining accurate records, guiding counseling staff while at the ropes course, and inspecting course and equipment. Other duties include assisting with transportation, worship, games and cabin supervision. Ropes Course Coordinator must attend Senior Staff Training and Staff Training.

  • Senior Counselor

    Minimum 19 years old.

    This person is the designated leader and organizer for onsite and offsite camper programs. While on day camp, the Senior Counselor manages a day camp team and serves as a liaison between the congregation and camp. While onsite, the Senior Counselor leads a village (a group of 2 – 3 cabins) through the camp day, models cabin management and mentors village partners. The Senior Counselor must attend Senior Staff and Staff Training.

  • Store Coordinator

    Minimum 17 years old.

    This person is the designated leader of the store and canteen to enhance the camper experience. The Store Coordinator operates the camp store including sales, inventory, accounting, and cleanliness of both the store and canteen. The Store Coordinator also organizes and distributes mail daily. Other duties include assisting with worship, games and cabin supervision. The Store Coordinator must attend Staff Training.

  • Summer Activities Director

    Minimum 21 years old.

    This person is a champion for camp facilities, grounds and activities. The Activities Director works with the Summer Leadership Team to ensure that camp runs smoothly, empowering activity staff members and managing camp improvement projects. Camping experience is required, as are strong leadership skills. The Summer Activities Director must attend Leadership Training as well as Staff Training.

  • Summer Site Director

    Minimum 21 years old.

    This person is the official timekeeper for the summer camp community. The Site Director works with the Summer Leadership Team to ensure that camp runs smoothly, empowering counseling staff members and supporting campers that need additional care. This director serves as a leader to the staff, campers, and sponsors. Camping experience is required, as are strong leadership skills. The Summer Site Director must attend Leadership Training as well as Staff Training.

  • Worship & Music Coordinator

    Minimum of 19 years old.

    This person is a creative leader that encourages campers and staff to encounter God through joyful noise. The Worship & Music Coordinator works with campers to lead morning worship, leads the whole camp in crazy-fun sing-a-longs and curates awe-filled evening worships. This coordinator must be highly responsible, flexible, creative and comfortable leading others in worship. Other duties include assisting with activities, games and cabin supervision. The Worship & Music Coordinator must attend Senior Staff Training and Staff Training.
